FAQ

Can I paste a streaming video link?

No. This tool processes files you select on your device; it does not download from video websites.

Which files work?

MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, M4A, WAV and OGG work when your browser can decode their audio track. Container support varies. Try Chrome or another source format if decoding fails.

Why can a large file fail?

The browser decodes the whole source before trimming. Sources must be 2 hours or less, even when trimming. The estimated decoded source plus selection must fit a 1.5 GB memory budget. Use a smaller source if it exceeds this budget or your device runs out of memory. MP3 output is limited to 150 MB.

Which bitrate should I choose?

Use 128 kbps for speech, 192 for music or 320 for an archive copy. Higher bitrates cannot restore quality lost in the source.
